Delete your account

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is directly in Plata:

1. Open Plata and sign in.
2. Go to your Profile.
3. Tap Settings (the gear icon).
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Confirm when prompted. Your account and data are permanently removed.

Once confirmed, this action cannot be undone.

Can't access the app?

If you've uninstalled Plata or can't sign in, email us from the address linked to your account and we'll delete it for you. Please include your Plata username so we can locate the correct account.

We respond to deletion requests within 30 days.

What data is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the personal data you created in Plata:

Tags and mentions of your username inside another user's content are dissociated from your account when it is deleted.

What may be retained

Most data is deleted immediately or within 30 days of your request. A limited set of records may be kept longer where we're legally or operationally required to:

• Moderation and safety records (e.g. abuse reports involving your account) may be retained for up to 90 days to protect the community and comply with our policies.
• Backups may contain residual copies for up to 30 days before they are rotated out and permanently overwritten.

Retained records are not used for any purpose other than the ones above and are deleted once the retention period ends.
